THE PHILIPPINES BRINGING ITS SAFE AND FUN POP-UP TO HYUNDAI SEOUL

More than 27,000 visitors flocked to the Philippines’ pop-up travel pavilion last June 14 to 20, 2022 at The Hyundai Seoul Department Store. This special consumer activation event dubbed “It’s More Fun With You in the Philippines” aims to reposition the country as a top-of-mind destination for general leisure tourists, especially the MZ generation. It also showcases the newest tourism products and activities that will likely appeal to the Korean travel market, along with the health and safety measures adopted by leisure destinations to ensure safe and fun travels.

“Korea is one of our top source markets for tourism. As foreign tourist arrivals increase, we aim to sustain this growth by reconnecting with our key partners in the global market like our relationship with South Korea”, said Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines COO Maria Anthonette Velasco-Allones.

Guests and participants were treated to exciting on-site activities in the various zones such as the “Virtual Zone” where one can watch the Philippines’ thriving marine life, the “Photo Zone” for a striking visual exhibition of the country’s 7,641 islands by featuring an interactive display of the Philippines’ major travel destinations like Manila, Boracay, Bohol, Cebu, Clark, Boracay, Siargao, and Cordillera, and a “Market Zone” where visitors can get travel information and inspiration for their future trips.

Furthermore, there is an “Activity Zone” where one can explore resort destination-themed markets and participate in various games and events. A total of 13 round-trip air tickets from Korea to the Philippines, jointly sponsored by Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Jin Air, and Korean Air, were offered to the visitors through a lucky draw event.

Korea’s top tour operators, Hana Tour and Mode Tour participated in the said event and sold Philippine packages online and offline, and took advantage of the big public traffic at The Hyundai Seoul.

Organized by the Philippine Department of Tourism Korea (PDOT-Korea) and the TPB, in collaboration with The Hyundai Seoul Department Store, this hybrid event was the first tourist destination-themed pop-up event that took place at The Hyundai Seoul since its opening in 2021.
