On Wednesday, 07 August 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) conducted the 3rd Quarter GAD Focal Point System (GFPS), Technical Working Group (TWG), and Secretariat Meeting at the TPB Activity Room B and C. The meeting served as a platform to discuss and review the ongoing and upcoming GAD Programs, Activities, and Projects for FY 2024.
The meeting commenced with a warm welcome to the newly inducted members of the GAD Focal Point System, emphasizing their crucial role in advancing gender and development initiatives within the organization. This was followed by a briefing on the upcoming GAD activities and capacity-building programs tailored for GFPS and TWG members, ensuring that they are well-equipped to contribute effectively to the GAD agenda.
An important highlight of the meeting was the discussion on the upcoming Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) Audit. The members were briefed on the preparation requirements and the importance of the audit in evaluating the progress of the TPB’s gender mainstreaming efforts.
Additionally, the meeting covered the development and dissemination of GAD Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, which play a vital role in raising awareness and promoting gender-responsive practices within the TPB and its stakeholders.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of the revised Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Form, which has been updated to streamline data collection and reporting processes for GAD-related activities.
The discussions were productive, and the members expressed their commitment to actively participate in and support the GAD initiatives planned for the rest of the year.
