The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) recently conducted a workshop on September 10-11, 2024, at the TPB Board Room to formulate the Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget for FY 2025. This hybrid seminar marked a significant step towards enhancing gender mainstreaming initiatives within the organization.
Facilitated by TPB GAD Consultant, Ms. Archie “Peechy” Mendoza, the workshop saw active participation of the TPB GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) Executive Members, Technical Working Group (TWG), and Secretariat. The event aimed to strategize and prioritize GAD programs that align with TPB’s vision for inclusivity and gender equality. Throughout the two-day session, participants engaged in constructive discussions and collaborative exercises, emphasizing the integration of gender perspectives across TPB’s strategic objectives. The workshop not only focused on planning for the upcoming year but also underscored TPB’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive workplace and society.
Reflecting on the workshop, Ms. Peechy highlighted the dedication and enthusiasm of participants in crafting initiatives that promote gender sensitivity and equality within TPB’s operations and programs.
The outcomes of this workshop will serve as a blueprint for TPB’s GAD efforts and initiatives in 2025, reinforcing its role in advocating for gender-responsive policies and practices in the tourism sector.
