On 28 November 2024, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) held its 4th Quarter Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS), Technical Working Group (TWG), and Secretariat Meeting at the TPB Activity Rooms B and C.
The meeting provided a platform to assess the status of TPB’s GAD mainstreaming efforts and to discuss plans for the next fiscal year (FY). As the final meeting of 2024, it focused on preparations for the year ahead.
A key outcome was the finalization of TPB’s GAD Mission and Vision, which underscores the agency’s commitment to GAD at both the organizational and national levels. These statements will serve as the guiding framework for future GAD initiatives.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the 2024 GAD Accomplishment Report. The GFPS, TWG, and Project Officers agreed to assess the integration of GAD in TPB’s Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) for FY 2024. This evaluation will ensure that the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Forms for completed PAPs accurately reflect the agency’s GAD compliance.
In addition, the meeting highlighted the importance of using updated Project Brief Forms, Project Proposal Forms, and Terminal Reports, which now include sections designed to integrate GAD perspectives into TPB projects.
Discussions also covered remaining GAD-related PAPs for 2024, particularly the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), running from 25 November to 12 December 2024. Activities during the campaign include wearing orange every Wednesday, using VAWC Zoom backgrounds, self-defense training, workplace safety seminars, and the distribution of GAD Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials. The campaign will culminate in outreach programs for women and children.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing GAD mainstreaming efforts in the upcoming fiscal year, with full support from the GFPS, TWG, and Secretariat.
