The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) successfully conducted a Gender and Development (GAD) Executive Briefing: Mainstreaming GAD in the Tourism Promotions Board on September 23, 2024, in a hybrid format, with some participants joining via Zoom and others in the TPB Board Room.

The session was led by Mr. Raymond Jay L. Mazo, an Independent Gender, Health, and Human Resource Consultant, who shared his expertise built on over a decade of experience in public health, gender equality, women and children protection, finance, procurement, training, research, organizational development, human resource management, and quality management systems. His in-depth insights guided the discussions on how TPB can effectively integrate GAD principles into its operations and policies.

The briefing covered essential areas such as embedding gender perspectives in tourism development, promoting gender-sensitive marketing strategies, and cultivating an inclusive organizational culture. Mr. Mazo’s expertise helped shed light on the importance of fostering gender equality in the tourism industry and how TPB can align its programs with GAD objectives.

The briefing was a significant step in TPB’s ongoing commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusivity within the organization and the wider tourism sector.
